ABOUT

Hi! I’m Kristin Foslid, LPC

If you’ve ever felt like life, parenting, or just "fitting in" is a steep mountain climb with thinning air, I want you to know you don’t have to navigate the switchbacks alone. Based in South Denver, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) dedicated to helping children, families, and neurodivergent adults find their footing and reach their own personal summits.

My work is deeply rooted in the belief that every person is unique. Whether I’m sitting on the floor of the playroom with a child or helping a late-diagnosed adult unmask for the first time, my approach is always gentle, neuro-affirming, and client-led. I don’t believe in "fixing" people; I believe in honoring the quiet wisdom that already exists within you.

WORKING TOGETHER

Therapy with me is a dynamic, deeply relational process that honors each person’s unique brain and journey.

My approach is trauma-informed and nuero-affirming:

  • For children (ages 6-12), I offer play therapy and emotional/behavioral support to help kids process big feelings and develop new skills

  • For neurodivergent adults, including high masking or late diagnosed women and mothers with ADHD, I offer Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and EMDR.

  • Beyond individual sessions, I also provide wraparound support for parents/caregivers and families to ensure children are getting the support they need at home and school.

Meet my co-therapist, Pickle!

In some of our sessions, you might meet a very special member of the team. Pickle is my dedicated co-therapist, and she is learning more every day about how to support my clients.

  • Depending on the goals for the day or the specific needs of a child or teen, Pickle may join us actively in our work or simply offer a quiet, comforting presence in the room. Her role is to provide:

    • A Grounding Presence: Her calm energy helps create a safe, relaxed space for sharing.

    • Emotional Support: Sometimes, just having a friendly furry face nearby makes it easier to talk through big feelings.

    • A "Bravery Partner": For kids working on social skills or anxiety, Pickle is a non-judgmental partner for practicing new tools.

If you or your child prefer a session without a furry co-therapist, or if there are any allergies to consider, just let me know. I will always prioritize your comfort and safety, and we will tailor the environment to what feels best for you.

MY STORY

Long before I became a therapist, I had a deep-seated belief that no one should ever have to carry a heavy burden alone.

My first real introduction to the power of therapy wasn't in a textbook; it was in a small office during my college years. I remember feeling stuck, unsure of my direction, and carrying a quiet exhaustion I couldn't quite name. Experiencing what it felt like to be truly heard, without judgment or the need to perform, shifted something fundamental in me. That relief and clarity taught me that the right support at the right moment doesn't just solve a problem; it changes the way you see your own reflection.

Over the last 15 years, my journey as a clinician has also been deeply intertwined with my own path of "unmasking." Navigating a late ADHD diagnosis and working through my own layers of trauma gave me more than just clinical insight, it gave me lived empathy. I know the bone-deep fatigue of high-masking and the frustration of questioning why your brain works the way it does. It’s that combination of professional expertise and personal investment that drives me today.

  • My work as a therapist has been shaped by both my professional experience and my own personal journey. I’ve spent over 15 years in the mental health field, working in outpatient, intensive outpatient, in-home settings, and now private practice.

  • I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado (LPC.0014816) with an MA in Clinical Psychology and over 15 years of experience across outpatient and in-home settings. I use an integrated approach grounded in child development, trauma-informed care, and neurodivergent-affirming care, with additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT). Above all, my work is centered on meeting people where they are and helping them build meaningful, sustainable change.

My office is located just south of downtown in Denver, with easy access from I-25 near the intersection of S Colorado Blvd and E Mexico Ave. If you’re coming from nearby areas like Washington Park, Cherry Hills, or the Denver Tech Center, you can expect about a 10-minute drive.

There’s free parking right out front, and the office is on the sixth floor with elevator access. Once you arrive, the office is designed to feel calm, comfortable, and welcoming of all ages, needs, and processing styles.

Let’s Work Together!

Whether I’m working with a child in the playroom or an adult unmasking for the first time, my goal is to be a steady, curious partner in your corner. We’re not just "doing therapy"—we’re building a relationship where you can finally stop feeling like you’re "crazy" or "too much," and start feeling like you have a clear direction and a pit crew that truly has your back.
